Every once and a while, I get hit with an epiphany. You know, that run into the wall and "ding, ding, ding" kind of moment. We all need those moments, particularly if you're focused on big goals, have a busy family or are managing that important project at work.

So, what was my "ding, ding, ding" moment? It happened last week, while driving out of my community to take my son to spend of few dollars of his allowance. I happen to live in a beautiful community that includes lakes and nature preserves. On any given day, I have ducks come to my back door for bread, I see fish jumping in one of the many lakes and there are rabbits catching an early morning snack. But, my "ding, ding, ding" moment wasn't the ducks quacking, or the fish jumping or the rabbits snacking. It was the site of 3 little squirrels chasing each other around an oak tree.

Yeah, I know, you're hyper-focused. You’ve got your head down and your blinders on. I know you're a 24/7, take no prisoners, failure is not an option kind of person. But, you know what? Occasionally, we all need to lighten up! Growing up around oak trees, I've seen squirrels almost every day of my life. This day, however, if but for a few minutes, I watched. I wondered, and I took a break.

Because of these three squirrel's, here's what I've committed to do for the next 90 days:

  1. I'm going to take some time, at least once a day, to enjoy squirrels (Not literally! But, I'll watch if they're cool with it).

  2. I'm going to take some time to learn about something that doesn't involve work, business, projects or products.

  3. I'm going to take one day a month to indulge in my RE-CREATE activity, FISHING!

I'd love to hear your story and what you plan on doing to enjoy the moment!

Enjoy The Squirrels,
